Known since 1898 as a traditional company under the name Gummiwerk Elbe, PTE is one of the leading international compound manufacturers with production plants in Germany, France, China and from the second half of 2017 also in Mexico. Polymer-Technik Elbe GmbH was founded in 1993 as a joint venture between the WOCO and Vorwerk & Sohn groups of companies.
The company offers high-quality rubber compounds for all application areas, in particular for the automotive and transport technology industries, construction and mining, the cable industry, household appliances, medical technology and mechanical engineering.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of PTE, Silcomp GmbH has also been part of the corporate group since 2012. Silcomp specializes in the development and production of elastomer compounds based on silicone and fluororubber, thus optimally rounding off PTE’s product range.
